MetaGene is committed to ensuring a sustainable future.

How do we achieve this?

Climate Protest

1. We buy local packaging

  • our eskies used to ship your products are purchased from local Australian manufacturer, Polyfoam, Australia's leading custom polystyrene moulder

  • our green shipping bags and packing materials are purchased from local Australian manufacturer, Biogone

2. We buy recyclable packaging products that do not harm the environment

  • our eskies are made from Expanded Polystyrene (also known as EPS). EPS is excellent at absorbing shocks and protecting delicate items.  EPS is resource efficient. The manufacturing uses little energy and has a low environmental impact. EPS products reduce energy consumption through insulation systems and fuel usage, due to being lightweight, reducing climate-damaging C02 emissions. EPS is inert and doesn’t produce any methane gas or contain chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). This means it does not harm human or animal health, or the environment. EPS is odourless and non-toxic. It does not, nor has it ever emitted chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). 100% recyclable.

  • our packing materials are landfill biodegradable

3. We reuse boxes, ice bricks and packing materials

  • your shipment may not always look pretty, but that could be because we have packaged it in a re-used box and we have re-used some of the packing materials from one of our various overseas suppliers to ship your order

4. Minimal hard copy documentation

  • we typically supply our products with the minimum of hard copy documentation, we provide a link to the manufacturer's website on all products for access to SDS, CoA, shelf life information, product datasheets and White Papers, ensuring you have access to the latest information regarding your product and minimising the impact on the environment
